All five achieve U-values of 0.15 W/m2K or better. All include Building Regulations in the price. The real differences are in transparency, warranty length, and installer networks. All data is verified from manufacturer websites as of April 2026.
- All five major systems achieve the same U-value of 0.15 W/m2K - thermal performance is not a differentiator, so focus on warranty, price, and installer quality instead
- WARMroof offers the longest warranty at 25 years - compared to Guardian’s 10+10 years, Ultraframe’s 10 years, and SupaLite’s unpublished terms
- Ultraframe has the strongest Trustpilot presence with 4.4/5 from 106 reviews - other brands have minimal or no review profiles, making independent verification harder
- SupaLite is the only brand to publish pricing from £10,000 + VAT for 10m2 - all other brands require a quote, making upfront budgeting difficult
- Your installer matters more than the brand you choose - get at least 3 quotes from different approved installers and check their individual reviews before committing

Ultraframe EDITOR’S PICK
Ultraframe is the UK’s largest conservatory roof manufacturer. Most homeowners end up choosing it. The Ultraroof system spans 4 metres without support – the longest in the market. That means no internal tie bars for most conservatory sizes. The result is a cleaner, more open interior.
Ultraframe claims the fastest installation of any tiled system. The roof is watertight in 6 hours, with the full project done in 1-3 days. In practice, 3 days is more realistic, but the speed advantage is real. They also offer the Livinroof hybrid, combining solid panels with glazed sections.
Ultraframe has 106 Trustpilot reviews at 4.4/5 – far more than any competitor. The 10-year warranty is industry standard, though shorter than WARMroof’s 25 years.
WARMroof
WARMroof uses a timber frame rather than aluminium. It offers the longest warranty in the market at 25 years. The company claims timber eliminates condensation that can occur with aluminium in cold weather. All branded systems aim to minimise this, but WARMroof’s approach is distinct.
The system is LABC Registered. Building Regulations approval is handled as part of the installation. It takes 2-4 days for a standard conservatory. WARMroof achieves the standard 0.15 U-value and fits most existing frames.
WARMroof’s main weakness is visibility. It is not on Trustpilot. Its installer network is smaller than Ultraframe or Guardian. This does not reflect product quality, but it makes checking reviews harder. Rely on your installer’s individual references instead.
SupaLite
SupaLite’s biggest differentiator is price transparency. It publishes pricing from £10,000 + VAT for a 10m2 roof. Every other brand demands a quote visit before revealing costs. This gives homeowners a genuine starting point for budgeting.
The system uses ExtraLight tiles, lighter than standard tiles but structurally sound. SupaLite offers next-day delivery for installers. The enhanced spec achieves 0.12 W/m2K.
The drawback: SupaLite does not publish its warranty terms. For a £10,000+ product, that is a big gap. It also has no Trustpilot profile. Published pricing but unpublished warranty is an odd imbalance. For a head-to-head with Guardian, see our SupaLite vs Guardian guide.

Guardian
Guardian’s standout feature is its exclusive VELUX partnership. It is the only tiled roof system with engineered VELUX window integration. If you want premium roof windows rather than generic ones, Guardian is the only option.
Guardian also has the most comprehensive warranty: 10 years on the product, plus 10 years on workmanship. That is 20 years of combined coverage. Both materials and labour quality are guaranteed. This gives clear recourse if problems arise.
The concern is Guardian’s Trustpilot: 2.6/5 from just 12 reviews. That is a small sample and reflects the manufacturer, not individual installers. Still, it is the lowest score in this comparison. Vet your Guardian installer carefully. Building Regulations are included via LABC/LABSS partnership.
Prefix Systems
Prefix Systems is the least known brand here, but its product range is genuinely versatile. The company makes solid, glass, and hybrid roofs. Installers can mix configurations within one system. If you want a hybrid combining tiled panels with glazed sections, Prefix is worth considering alongside Ultraframe’s Livinroof.
Prefix achieves the standard 0.15 U-value and is LABC Registered. Building Regulations are included. The warranty is 10 years – matching Ultraframe but behind WARMroof’s 25 years. Installation takes 2-4 days.
Prefix’s weakness is brand awareness. It is not on Trustpilot. Its installer network is smaller than the top three brands. You may need to search harder to find an approved installer, especially outside major cities.
How to Choose the Right System
All five systems deliver identical thermal performance at 0.15 W/m2K. Your decision should come down to warranty, price transparency, unique features, and your local installer’s quality.
| If you prioritise… | Choose… | Why |
|---|---|---|
| All-round confidence | Ultraframe | Widest network, best reviews (4.4/5), proven track record |
| Maximum warranty | WARMroof | 25-year guarantee, 15 years longer than the next best |
| Upfront pricing | SupaLite | Only brand that publishes costs (from £10K + VAT) |
| Natural light (roof windows) | Guardian | Exclusive VELUX partnership for engineered integration |
| Hybrid (solid + glass) | Ultraframe or Prefix | Both offer solid-glass combination roofs |
| Lowest quote | Get 3+ quotes | Installer margins vary more than brand pricing |
Our recommendation: Get quotes from at least 3 approved installers using different brands. The installer’s quality matters more than the brand. Check what is included (plastering, electrics, building control). Read their Google, Checkatrade, or TrustATrader reviews – not just the manufacturer’s Trustpilot page.

Regional Coverage and Installer Density
System availability and installer density vary across the UK. London and the M25 commuter belt have the densest combined coverage (60–80 approved installers across the four major systems). Scotland and Wales have the smallest networks (15–30 dealers each).
- London & M25: 60–80 approved installers across all systems. Strongest quote competition. See our London regional guide.
- Greater Manchester: 35–50 installers. SupaLite advantage thanks to Chorley manufacturing proximity. See our Manchester regional guide.
- Greater Glasgow: 20–30 installers. Building Standards Section 6 (Scotland's Building Regs equivalent). See our Glasgow regional guide.
- Other regions: Birmingham, Bristol, Leeds, Newcastle all have solid coverage at 25–40 installers. Smaller cities and rural areas may have only 5–10 dealers across all four systems.
