For UK fleets that need enterprise-grade data analytics, deep compliance tools, and the broadest integration marketplace in the industry, Geotab is the most powerful option available. The tradeoffs are a steep learning curve, no published pricing, and a reseller-only sales model that makes buying less straightforward than competitors.

Geotab was founded in 2000 by Neil Cawse in Oakville, Ontario, Canada, and remains privately owned with no outside investors. In October 2025, Geotab significantly expanded its UK presence by acquiring the commercial operations of Verizon Connect across the UK, Ireland, six other European countries, and Australia. Around 400 former Verizon Connect employees joined Geotab, and existing UK Verizon Connect customers are being migrated to MyGeotab, with trade reports citing an 18-month transition period (Geotab’s own announcement gives no timeline).

Geotab Pricing UK 2026

Geotab pricing is not published and is set by authorised UK resellers. Geotab now lists two current rate plans (Base/GO Core and GO), so ask resellers for a written quote on each.

Geotab does not publish pricing on its website. All pricing is set by authorised resellers, which means costs vary depending on which partner you buy through, your fleet size, and the contract length you agree to. This is a significant friction point compared to providers like Trakm8 or Quartix who publish transparent rates.

Hardware costs are separate from the subscription and set by the reseller, who may bundle the GO9 device into the monthly price. Geotab publishes no UK hardware or plan prices, so ask for a written quote that itemises the device, the plan and the contract term.

Geotab’s older Regulatory plan, which added tachograph compliance and drivers’ hours monitoring, is now labelled legacy and is no longer offered for new subscriptions. Ask your reseller how compliance reporting is packaged on the current plans, as it may add cost. Contract lengths typically run 12 to 36 months, with volume discounts available for larger fleets. We recommend getting quotes from at least two UK resellers before committing.

Geotab is the fleet telematics equivalent of a Swiss Army knife. With 5 million connected vehicles, 100 billion daily data points, and a 700-partner marketplace, no other platform comes close in terms of raw capability and customisation. The EV fleet management tools are the best in the market, the compliance suite covers every UK HGV requirement, and the Crown Commercial Service approval makes it an obvious choice for public sector fleets.

The challenge is that all this power comes with genuine complexity. MyGeotab is not a platform you will master in a day, and the learning curve is the single most consistent criticism across every review site. The reseller-only sales model adds another layer of friction – you cannot simply sign up on a website, and your experience will partly depend on which partner you buy through. For fleets with dedicated operations teams who can invest the time to learn the platform, Geotab will reward them with the deepest insights available.

For smaller fleets, the Verizon Connect acquisition may eventually bring a simpler entry point as Geotab integrates those SME-focused teams. Until then, fleets under 20 vehicles will find better value and a faster setup with Quartix or Trakm8. Geotab’s sweet spot remains mid-to-large fleets of 50+ vehicles that need enterprise analytics, deep compliance, and the freedom to build exactly the system they want.
