How to Use This Calculator
Choose SEO or PPC, then set the one input that changes the price. For PPC that is your monthly ad spend, because most agencies that publish PPC prices set their fee by spend band. For SEO it is the scope of the campaign: local, national or e-commerce.
The headline figure is the middle of the published fees that apply to you. The bar chart shows every agency’s fee side by side, and the breakdown explains how each one is worked out. For PPC, the calculator also adds your ad spend to show the full monthly bill.
What UK Agencies Publish
Published PPC management fees start at £145 to £1,200 a month, and published SEO prices run from £185 to £1,967 a month. These are the agencies’ own prices, read from their pricing pages in October 2026, not survey averages.
PPC fees climb with ad spend. DPOM charges £145 a month for budgets up to £500 and £445 for budgets up to £7,500. Search Hog runs from £275 to £660 for budgets up to £6,000, then quotes on request. One PPC charges £360 under £3,000 of spend and £720 with no limit. PPC Vibe starts at £1,200 for accounts spending up to about £10,000.
SEO depends on scope. DPOM publishes packages of £185 (local), £335 (national) and £585 (e-commerce), plus a £195 setup fee. Full retainers from agencies that publish prices start higher: Targeted SEO suggests a minimum of £1,000 to £1,500, Terrier starts at £1,250 and Whitehat SEO at £1,967.
Content and social media are usually quoted. We found almost no published prices for content or organic social retainers, so the calculator does not estimate them. Whitehat SEO’s content retainer at £2,967 a month is the one published example. Our digital marketing agency costs guide covers every service and the extra costs that appear once you sign.
How We Calculated These Estimates
Every figure comes from a UK agency’s own pricing page, read in October 2026. For PPC, the calculator finds the fee each of six agencies publishes for your ad-spend band: DPOM, PPC Ads, Search Hog, Riverforge, One PPC and PPC Vibe. An agency drops out where it stops publishing prices, such as Search Hog above £6,000 of spend.
ALT Agency, The Nexclick and Whitehat SEO also publish PPC prices, but only as a single starting fee of £650 to £780 a month with no spend bands, so they are not in the chart. For SEO, the calculator compares DPOM’s package for your scope with the published starting prices of Targeted SEO, Terrier and Whitehat SEO.
Agencies that publish prices tend to serve smaller businesses, so read the result as a floor rather than a market average. Larger agencies quote individually and usually charge more. Prices exclude VAT. To compare agencies by service, see our best digital marketing agencies guide, and for help splitting a budget, read SEO vs PPC for small businesses.
