A Year of Acorns

Fallen acorns

A foraging information blog claims that oak trees can produce up to 29,000 acorns each year. Think of all the acorns lying around your average oak tree and imagine how many fall throughout an entire year before the squirrels and birds stock up. Each fallen acorn could represent a child lost over the past three months in Somalia.
